Pharmacy Technician - A Promising Healthcare Career
If you are interested in working in the rewarding field of healthcare, and enjoy helping others, Pharmacy Technician may be the career path for you.
HSTi's training helps students be a vital asset to any hospital, clinic, or retail pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician program at HealthStaff Training Institute prepares our graduates for employment in any pharmaceutical environment.
Students receive instruction in pharmacy law and drug legislation, drug nomenclature, dosage forms, weights, measures, and calculations. Emphasis is placed on terminology, anatomy, and physiology as it relates to various diagnoses, medications, drug classifications, chemotherapy and antibiotic, automated drug distribution, sterile preparation, and extemporaneous compounding.
Students are required to participate in a 120-hour externship in an approved hospital or pharmacy where they will perform various pharmacy functions. Upon completion of the Pharmacy Technician program, students are prepared to make a smooth transition into the workplace with the on-the-job experience gained from the externship.
