PT1 License Application: Attestation Page is prepared and submitted to Laboratory Field Services by HSTi

Externship Requirements/Hours: 
PT1 Externships are a mandatory requirement and part of the all-inclusive HSTi Phlebotomy program. HSTi provides 40 hours of off-site externship at a CDPH approved facility.

You may qualify for the Advanced Phlebotomy Course

Saturday session/30 clock hours/4 Saturdays – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Prerequisites:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 1040 hours in the Medical Field including 50 Successful Blood Draws in the last 5 years.

  • Advanced Phlebotomy Experience Form must be Completed and Submitted to HSTi at enrollment.

Question: What are the eligibility criteria to enroll in the Phlebotomy Technician Course? 

Answer: Applying to phlebotomy training programs is incredibly straightforward. You simply need a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a great attitude to kickstart your education. We recommend some experience in the medical field or certificates like a medical assistant.

Question: How long is the Phlebotomy Technician Course? 

Answer: We offer both Weekday as well as weekend classes. 

Question: Is externship covered in the program? 

Answer: Yes, an externship is part of the program. After the conclusion of your classroom portion, we arrange for your externship at medical facilities like hospitals, medical groups, and labs.

Question: Do you offer payment plans?

Answer: Yes, we do offer some easy flexible payment plans. Please ask your admission counselor.

Question: Do you offer job placement assistance?

Answer: Yes, we do offer job placement assistance. We help you with job leads after your successful course completion of the Phlebotomy classroom course and externship.
